Position Available: Project Engineer – L3

We are adding a Project Engineer – L3 to our team to sustain the growth forecasted for TSE. This is a dynamic role with shifting priorities. Responsibilities include preparation of planning and design documents for civil site projects in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. The Project Engineer – L3 will also have occasional coordination and correspondence with clients and jurisdictional agencies.
Location:
On-site at 27 W. Church Street, Blackwood, NJ 08012. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize leadership and engineering skills to perform design tasks and provide direction to support staff • Apply communication skills for productive interactions with clients, client representatives and regulatory agencies
- Plan and prepare layouts and detailed design drawings, including grading, drainage, and utilities from engineering notes, sketches, and other drawings, ensuring they meet TSE and industry standards and codes • Draft land surveys, land development plans, subdivision plans, concept plans and construction documents • Prepare stormwater management design, supporting calculation reports and facilities maintenance guidelines
- Research ordinance and zoning requirements, regulations, and project specific data related to design • Prepare permit applications
- Work closely with drafters, project managers, and senior-level team members to ensure plan coordination is maintained
- Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule
- Review drawings for completeness and accuracy
- Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project related information • Preparation of plans for transmittal (printing, sealing, folding & mailing)
- Other projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental or Mechanical)
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Five years of experience in a Civil Engineering discipline
- Professional level proficiency in AutoCAD
- Professional level proficiency with Civil 3D
- Professional level proficiency with HydroCAD
- Intermediate level proficiency with typical office software, including: Google Workspace, Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat
- Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer in NJ and/or PA
- Familiarity with municipal, county and state regulatory agencies
- Seven or more years of experience in the Land Use Development discipline
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Land surveying experience is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Prioritization, with the ability to analyze, judge and adapt to changing needs
- Excel in a team environment
- Professionalism with a willingness to assume increased responsibilities
